Quality Engineering Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Engineering Manager who is a hands-on Engineering Manager to build a new team focused on enhancing automation coverage, improving quality and test effectiveness across the hybrid application landscape.

  • Grow and manage a highly effective diverse QA team, including hiring, coaching, and mentoring team members.
  • Build on existing and create new QA automation strategies, to enable and drive engineering teams to build automation at scale.
  • Create and implement test automation strategies, automated testing methodologies, and approaches, tools, techniques (unit, functional, integration), executing automated test suites, performance testing and debugging test failures.
  • Build product expertise to identify and close gaps in automation test coverage.
  • Lead the improvement and implementation of best practices, methodologies, AI, and tooling to meet quality coverage needs for products.
  • Drive modern engineering practices, automation coverage, quality, first-time-right, and reduce the cost of testing.
  • Establish team metrics for measurement of quality and operational excellence, and a consistent, regular process for assessment and improvements.
  • Track, report and manage service levels such as Defect Leakage, Defect Escape Rate, Time to Test, Test Cost, Cost per bug fix etc.,
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to quality engineers in the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate Continuous integration, deployment and monitoring processes.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience with following skillsets
    • Experience working in engineering tools such as Jira, GitHub, Selenium, Cucumber, Junit, test management suites or similar tools.
    • Experience implementing modern test practices like behavior-driven development (BDD) testing, Test Driven Development (TDD) etc.,
    • Experience driving test strategy, automation, and execution in a hybrid landscape, including ERPs, custom applications, and integrations.
    • Experience setting the technical vision for developing test automation and continuous integration.
    • Solid understanding of Agile and waterfall delivery methodologies.
    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
    • Experience working in Cloud and DevOps environment, preferably in Azure or Hybrid cloud.
    • Possess effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Must possess strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
