Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Engineer specializing in Non-Destructive Testing, specifically PT, Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Visual. The Engineer will be responsible for conducting NDT inspections, interpreting test results, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, specifically NAS410. The ideal candidate should have Level 2 certification in FPI, with a strong background in quality control and inspection procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform PT, Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Visual on various components and structures following established procedures.
- Interpret NDT test results and provide accurate reports on findings.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with NAS410 and other relevant standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address any quality or performance issues.
- Develop and implement inspection plans, procedures, and techniques for NDT activities.
- Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment to ensure accurate and reliable testing results.
- Train and mentor junior NDT technicians in FPI, PT and visual techniques.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in NDT technology, techniques, and industry standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance NDT processes and procedures.
The Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for this role shall be:
- A number of successful NDT inspections were conducted within specified timeframes.
- Accuracy and completeness of NDT reports and documentation.
- Compliance with NAS410 and other relevant standards.
- Effectiveness of NDT techniques and procedures in detecting defects and ensuring component quality.
- Adherence to safety protocols and procedures during NDT operations.
- Efficient utilization and maintenance of NDT equipment.
- Customer satisfaction with NDT services and results.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Level 2 certification in FPI as per NAS410.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of NDT principles and techniques, with specific expertise in PT, FPI & Visual.
- Proven experience in conducting NDT inspections and interpreting test results.
- Familiarity with industry standards and specifications, such as NAS410, ASTM, ASME, AS9100 and NADCAP
- Proficient in using NDT equipment and software applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Prior experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or related industries is preferred.

Desired Candidate Profile
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- NDT Level II Certified, and ASNT Level II
Experience:
- Proven experience (typically 4+ years) in foundry operations, with a focus on air melting and pouring processes, preferably in high-precision stainless steel foundries.
- Documents experience log in FPI for 400 hours under certified level 2 or level 3
Technical / Functional Expertise & other competencies:
Technical / Functional Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in Penetration Testing, FPI and Visual methods.
- Understanding of NDT applications in aerospace, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Familiarity with digital radiography and advanced NDT technologies is a plus.
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis and recommend appropriate corrective actions based on inspection findings.
