Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Management of Patients
- Complete a brief history & examination on each patient when they are admitted and document it appropriately in patient records.
- Attend ward rounds with consulting staff, as required, and be available to discuss patient treatment plans.
- Inform admitting consultants of changes in the medical condition of patients and of relevant action taken.
- Initiate and alter in-patient prescriptions at the consultant’s request.
- To be familiar with all relevant procedures/policies.
- To be familiar with center and company clinical policies. To report clinical incidents, drug errors and near misses.
· To participate in clinical audit and implementation of clinical governance.
Emergency
· To identify the emergency conditions in time.
· To be able to confidently & independently manage very sick patients of pulmonary and cardiac medicine, post-op medicine, life-threatening diseases including MI, Stroke and acute respiratory distress,etc
· Able to intubate, resuscitate , use ventilator, TPM
Relationships
· Administratively responsible to the Medical Director.
· Professionally responsible to the Registrar/Medical Superintendent.
· Liaises closely with nursing staff and other relevant clinical or administrative staff.
· Uses designated mentor in order to discuss clinical (or non-clinical) situations occurring within the hospital.
