Job description

The Oberoi Group is hiring for the position of Director Food and Beverage Service for The Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort, New Chandigarh. Give below is the job description of the role.


SUMMARY

To direct and guide the Food and Beverage operations in providing highest level of hospitality as per international standards. Creating cutting edge F&B concepts as per international trends and maximizing overall profitability.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Defines Food and Beverage standards regarding quality of product and service.
  • Develops new concepts of service and methods to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Ensures that all outlets of Unit under his control achieve the highest standards of quality in food production and service.
  • Ensures that menus are changed on a regular basis, as per the markets need and policy.
  • Identifies and develops new products, equipment and amenities to curate cutting edge F&B concepts.
  • Ensure highest levels of hygiene levels in all F&B areas as well as stores.
  • Directs the Budgeting process for all capital and operational requirements in order to achieve the desired profitability.
  • Guides capital and Operational budget process in Food and Beverage operation.
  • Approves changes in the pricing strategy, based on competition analysis and keeping in mind the target customer in consultation with Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Controller.
  • Approves all recipes of dishes served in the restaurant, ensures proper linkup in MICROS and updation.
  • Orders beverages keeping in mind the trends. Ensures the beverage stock remains in line with the sales.
  • Keep a very close eye on both fixed and variable costs.
  • Analyses and monitors the Food and Beverage profitability on a regular basis and initiates corrective action.
  • Meets both resident and nonresident guests regularly and have a connect with the whos who and top spenders.
  • Develops an annual plan for special food promotions, marketing and PR activities.
  • Develops and implements innovative ideas for marketing of the product to ensure quantifiable results.
  • Liaises with international chefs to create high end pop us with Michelin starred chefs.
  • Works closely with hotel sales team to increase revenue opportunities.
  • Ensures that the organizations policies are adhered to by all the employees in the department.
  • Develops and conducts training programs and schedules for Food and Beverage staffs in collaboration with the training department and Food and Beverage outlet heads.
  • Uses Oberoi appraisal system to review the performance.
  • Ensures career development and succession planning for all employees based solely on performance.
  • Creates a platform of engagement to keep the team members involved.
  • Recognition and appreciation of team members.
  • Coaches and counsels subordinates.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Has experience of atleast 15 years in F&B domain with last 2 years as HOD.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Awareness of Food And Beverage product.
  • Creative approach to get out of the box ideas.
  • Proficient and up to date with computer and online marketing channels.
  • Sharp analytical mind, with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task on issues.
  • Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
  • Professional approach and demeanor.
