What is the Tyson GPS (Global Platform Services) Operations Team?

The Global Platform Services team is responsible for the ongoing operations and continuous improvement of Tyson's Foods global application portfolio – focused on regions including the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific. This team is in collaboration with all areas of Tyson Technology across multiple Tyson Business Units. Tyson Foods Operations team is seeking a Software Developer to join our Tyson’s India office. The ideal candidate is a creative, growing leader with sound technical abilities. This opportunity requires good problem-solving and communication skills. Key focus areas will be operational excellence, pro-active system monitoring & automated (self-healing) support correction techniques. We’re looking for someone with a technologist mindset, with high self-initiative and integrity who excels in helping their team achieve success.
Required Skills:
- Experience in JavaScript, React JS, Python or other scripting languages
- Experience in API usage (REST/SOAP)
- Experience in .Net, Palantir, NodeJS
- Strong SQL skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Job Scheduling platforms (Redwood, Active Batch, BMC Control, etc.)
- Understanding of middleware technologies/tools such as Pub/Sub messaging, message queues, ActiveMQ, Message Broker.
- Experience in finance platforms like Anaplan, Concur to name few.
- Experience with Virtual machines and Mini remote control application.
- Understanding of AWS, GCP tools and services
- Experience working in Follow the Sun, Onshore-Offshore Operations model
Responsibilities –
- Collaborate with business to understand and document the requirements related to project development for new project and enhancement for existing application.
- Resolve functional problems, escalate and track problems appropriately.
- Responsible for front end development using the technical skillsets mentioned above.
- Understand the criticality of the project and deliver based on customer needs.
- Communicate clearly with internal and external customers (vendors) for any open issues and make sure we are not ever missing our SLAs for the applications we are responsible for.
- Primary responsibility would be operational support for major portfolios.
- Secondary responsibility would be any project related development/enhancement work.
- Responsible for getting Knowledge Transfer for any support operations around activities.
- Responsible for creating AID documents for any support operations turnover project.
- Create and deliver appropriate documentation, training and communication around feature(s) and process changes.
- Participate in the design of new enhancements and business processes that will improve operational efficiency across the organization.
Requirements
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Management, or other related discipline. Equivalent experience may be acceptable.
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in Information Technology or related area preferred
