Desktop Engineer (New Health Care Company) - (Bangalore)
3M is establishing two industry-leading companies, creating value through the spin-off of its Health Care business, while 3M will continue to be a global material science leader, focusing our innovation to win in favorable global megatrends and attractive end markets. This new Health Care Company will be a leading global diversified health technology company with:

We expect the creation of the two companies will be completed by the end of Q1 2024. For now, we will continue to operate as one global company. This role is positioned to drive the success of the "New Health Care Company”.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The successful candidate will be New Health Care Companies Global, technical expert in the area of Desktop Engineering, with a solid grasp of New HC Companies environment, systems, and directions. As a Desktop Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Participating in a diverse Agile Scrum team supporting team deliverables across the Desktop Engineering portfolio of services (Imaging, provisioning, security, hardware, operating system management, software delivery, analytics, automation, etc).
- Leading projects around the identification and automation of key operational activities with a focus on reducing friction in IT Processes and improving client satisfaction
- Responsibility for the building, maintenance, and enhancement of architecture (BeyondTrust privilege management, Browser Technologies like MS Edge & Chrome, and Java JRE)
- Manage the service vendors, monitor SLAs, ensure timely delivery
- Participating in next generation device imaging and management activities, including but not limited to; testing and configuring new Operating System imaging and delivery processes, data migration strategies, systems management strategies, security, compliance, etc.
- Participating in the design, implementation and support of a varied portfolio of global desktop solutions that meet business requirements and are aligned to security and operational standards.
- Consulting with clients on emerging technology and/or existing solutions.
- Set Product Direction
- Develops/maintains vendor relationship with top technical experts
- Maintain and broaden skills/expertise in different technology areas, stay in touch with changing technologies.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution OR High School diploma/GED or higher AND four years of IT experience in lieu of the education requirement
- Three (3) years supporting end user hardware and software
- Minimum 2 years of hands on project management experience with a focus on delivering complex projects in an organized and efficient manner
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Deep technical knowledge of pcs, desktop hardware, current protocols, operating systems and standards
- Software and Hardware Troubleshooting Experience in provisioning, imaging and deploying devices and device management
- Experience with mobile device management systems
- Scrum Master Certification
