Position Overview:
As a Dental Assistant at National Dental Care, you will play a vital role in supporting our dentists and specialists in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. You will assist with various clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient operation of the dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist dentists and specialists during dental procedures by handing them instruments, operating suction devices, and providing other chairside assistance.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures by setting up instruments, equipment, and materials.
- Take and process dental X-rays as directed by the dentist, ensuring compliance with radiation safety protocols.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment according to infection control guidelines.
- Prepare and maintain dental materials, such as dental cements, impression materials, and restorative materials.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Perform basic laboratory duties, such as pouring and trimming models, and fabricating temporary crowns.
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate patient records in the practice management software system.
- Assist with front desk duties as needed, including answering phone calls, greeting patients, and processing payments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental office, including treatment rooms, sterilization areas, and reception area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting program preferred.
- Dental Assistant certification or registration in accordance with state regulations.
- X-ray certification or willingness to obtain certification within the first three months of employment.
- Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a dental practice setting preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using dental software and computer applications.
