Join the Database Administration Group organization Nasdaq. As our new member, you will work with a group of enthusiastic and experienced team members. Together with your team, you will be responsible for all aspects of Database Administration and supporting various applications.
- Perform Architecture Health Check of databases and suggest recommendations to improve the database environment.
- Install, Upgrade database software, troubleshoot and implement audit and security, and performance of databases.
- Participate in Database Design reviews and operational Readiness reviews, provide database support estimates, schedules, test plans, and code reviews.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential problems/issues including authoring of database technical specifications.
- Conduct performance testing, review results, identify bottlenecks, and profile code.
- At least 10-12 years of experience as a DBA.
- Very good knowledge and understanding of on premise and Cloud database infrastructure especially MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, database concepts, database administration, security, monitoring.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux Operations System.
- Expertise in scripting language in any of the following skill sets in Linux/Unix Shell script, Perl, or Python.
- Participate in Production Support and On-Call rotation including weekends.
- May have to work in 24*7 setup including the night shift.
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle and agile development methodology.
- Ability to understand business drivers and customer needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with many stakeholders.
- Strong writing skills to create necessary technical documentation.
- Ability to communicate technical information in a clear, precise, and actionable manner to broad ranges of audiences Initiative, dependability, cooperation and thoroughness in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, mentor junior staff.
- Professional attitude with ability to prioritize work, multi-task, flex between changing priorities, and strong time management is critical in our rapidly changing environment.
- Passion for learning and keeping up with emerging technologies / industry trends and applying them as necessary.
- Collaborates with database software vendors and external technical support on issues such as software upgrades, problems and potential solutions.
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or other related technical discipline.
- Experience with Financial Markets
