Your Role and Responsibilities
Our Experience Engine team is comprised of data experts and Demand drivers who own the planning, execution, and optimization of our brand to demand to sales experiences in order to convert our qualified pipeline into revenue growth. We believe data powers the insights companies use to transform the way we work. We are looking for a Data Scientist who enjoys analyzing data to push marketers to take action and improve campaign performance and who has proven experience finding actionable insights in large data sets that lead to measurable business results.
In this role you will work with business stakeholders, engineers, marketing and sales teams on analytics and strategy. You will get exposure to all aspects of marketing demand generation and performance, from early-stage audience targeting via paid media investment and web performance, through to response to lead management and sales analytics. Our team directly impacts the direction of the marketing organization and all of IBM. We provide insights that drive both strategic and tactical outcomes for the company, and directly guide marketing execution.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Project Work: Owns a project feature and accountable for development and deployment. Sets project vision and manages timeline and deliverables. Develops new learning methods to solve complex technical problems. Clearly articulates to all parties (technical and non) how data science methodologies are tailored to specific project work.
- Customer Focus: Translates end user needs into requirements, delivers prototypes or MVPs, aligns technical solution that resolves the problem.
- Innovation: Generates opportunities and contributes to the creation of IP (patents, peer-reviewed publications, external presentations, etc.), or as a creative way to solve a problem.
- AI Ethics and Principles: Ensures application of IBM’s AI Ethics principles to projects they work on.
- Collaboration and Influence: Manages the work of one or more junior teammates, providing guidance & coaching. Mentors others in the org. Leads community-building efforts.
We offer a dynamic blend of personal flexibility and a thriving in-office environment. This role requires three days of in-office presence per week, with two days for remote work.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Data Extraction and Manipulation: Ensures sound data usage for meaningful result interpretation. Experience with discovery & extraction of various data types relevant to a project.
- Coding for Data Science: Ensures robust & reproducible implementation of algorithms and experiments. Deep experience with python libraries.
- Statistics, Machine Learning, and AI: Builds expertise in tools & techniques to evaluate trust and transparency. Masters use of data science platforms and tools
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Knowledge of data tools, basic statistics, machine learning, advanced math, data manipulation.
- A solid foundation typically in statistics, modeling, operations research, computer science and applications, and math.
- Strong business acumen, coupled with the ability to communicate findings to both business and IT leaders in a way that can influence how an organization approaches a business challenge.
- Effective at deploying an analytics solution, thereby realizing business value.
