Data Management Lead

The PPM Digital Data Analytics and Performance (DDAP) team’s mission is to embed effective integrated R&D project management through Data Management standards, systems, and analytics; Increasing organizational digital capabilities; Enabling efficient project, resource, and pipeline management with good performance measures.

The Data Management team is responsible for managing the project data and pipeline data. As part of the ecosystem, this data is generated across the drug development & commercialization processes. The primary purpose of this job is to oversee the Data Governance framework for PPM Data.

This role will need to help maintain governance standards and will help generate quality insights leveraging on a mix of structured & unstructured data across both internal & external systems (Databases); but also promote the use of data quality monitoring tool to support real-time data quality monitoring, and continuous process enhancement.

Will work collaboratively with stakeholders in each function of GSK to roll-out the various maturity step of the data framework within the overall Digital Data & Analytics landscape of GSK. This role will assist with the assessment of any internal/external data requirements as well as data governance, validation, and curation activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of PPM data governance and quality framework
  • Orchestrate the creation of the Data Quality Management plan and checks, but also perform a regular review of the data quality dashboard so that we are certain that the adequate actions are being taken by the relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with PMs on ensuring the data quality of critical data is maintained. Work with the data governance lead in ensuring data definitions are maintained.
  • Lead and Perform Independent “After Action Review” when an important issue is detected on the master data in scope so that we can clearly identify the impacts, the root causes, but also determine what must be put in place or modified to reduce or mitigate the risk.
  • Participate in the prioritized Proof of Concepts on data interoperability/reuse. This includes but is not limited to structured authoring, machine learning, ontologies, automation, …
  • Will support the analyzing & mapping data flows; but also ensure adequate documentation is done for any data flow created by the team.
  • Review any training documents for the team, and when relevant play an active role in training activities of the team and the stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Economics, Finance, Life Science, Software Engineering, Math, Bioinformatics, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in Data Management, data governance or related roles
  • Experience within pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL, database, and data governance technologies (e.g., SQL server, Collibra, MDM Informatica, Reltio)

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Strong leadership abilities, self-driven, and ability manage multiple priorities effectively to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrates capability to proactively identify data governance needs and resolves data quality issues with minimal oversight
  • Experience working in Agile project delivery
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management skills, and ability to collaborate with both technical and business colleagues
  • Certification in MDM, data governance or related areas is plus
