Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients in critical condition, including monitoring vital signs, assessing neurological status, and evaluating response to treatment.
- Nursing Care: Provide skilled nursing care to critically ill patients, including administering medications, managing life support equipment, and performing advanced nursing procedures as needed.
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' condition, including cardiac rhythm, oxygenation, and hemodynamic status, and respond promptly to changes or deterioration.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients in critical condition.
- Advocacy: Advocate for patients' needs and preferences, ensuring that their voices are heard and their rights are respected throughout their healthcare journey.
- Family Support: Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, keeping them informed about their loved one's condition and involving them in the care process as appropriate.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Crisis Management: Respond effectively to emergencies and crises in the Critical Care setting, including performing CPR, initiating emergency interventions, and coordinating rapid response teams.
- Education: Stay current with advances in Critical Care nursing practice through continuing education, professional development activities, and participation in relevant conferences or seminars.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, optimizing resource utilization, and promoting a culture of safety within the Critical Care unit.
