The System Administrator isresponsible for installation/configuration, operation and maintenance ofsystems hardware and software and related infrastructure, including end-usersystems
Coordinating with engineering, business application, and database administration functions to implement desktop and server systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives.
Deploying workstations,servers, printers, scanners, firewalls, encryption systems, and appliancessecurity systems.
Managing Active Directory,Microsoft Exchange, and server and workstations
Managing the physical andvirtual environment of high volume or servers and workstations
Creating and managing and windows clustering, domain controllers andgroup policy
Bachelors or Masters degree incomputer science or equivalent education and experience
Minimum 6-9years of experience in System Administration
Working knowledge of LAN andWAN topologies and architecture.
Working knowledge of Server andPC operating systems - such as Windows and Linux Operating Systems
Strong working knowledge ofconfiguring and maintaining VMware and virtual environments.
Experience in configuring andrunning Microsoft DHCP and DNS services.
Good to have a workingknowledge of IP Telephony.
Working knowledge of PC/LANapplication software including word processing (MS Word), spreadsheets (MSExcel) and E-Mail (MS Outlook).
Strong working knowledge ofmanaging multiple linked databases to include security, data safety andintegrity, disaster recovery, and development of bulk data import/exportprocedures.
Ensuring the security of theserver infrastructure by implementing industry best-practices regardingprivacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
Anticipate, mitigate, identify,troubleshoot, and correct hardware and software issues on servers, andworkstations. Escalating incidents as necessary.
Practicing server assetmanagement, including maintenance of server component inventory and relateddocumentation and technical specifications information.
Managing the physicalenvironment of the server racks including cable management, documentation, labeling,and configuration of switching for console and remote access.
Managing and defining accesscontrols over NAS and SAN storages
