In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely together with the engineering and manufacturing organizations in Royal Philips to enable quality improvement of products and systems. You will develop new high-end vision & quality measurement applications used by Test & Verification laboratory for functionality and load testing and used by manufacturing for process control and quality testing.
Your role:
Development of new high-end vision & quality measurement applications. You derive the relevant measurement parameters in close cooperation with customer representatives and other project team members. You specify the hardware to capture the relevant measurement parameters. For a vision system, this includes the choice of the camera, lens, illumination and, if necessary, actuators (e.g. motors). You take care of the integral design of the system together with colleagues from the mechanical and electrical design groups. The development of the measurement system software, including the algorithms to process the data or image content and extract the corresponding characteristic values is a substantial part of your responsibility.
Develop technical solutions and deliver proof-of-concepts to demonstrate the validity of the solutions
Apply a structured way of working: V-model methodology, planning, tracking, quality of software, documentation, and communication
Maintaining and building new Vision & Quality Measurement competences, including measurement hardware, Halcon and LabVIEW knowledge
Contributing maintaining a network/community of suppliers, peers and customers
Support the department in making the choice between make/buy decisions of parts of the solutions
Supporting junior and hired vision technology engineers
You're the right fit if: (4 x bullets max)
SW development engineers with ample experience in development of Halcon and LabVIEW based software. Development experience using other platforms, e.g. C/C++, C#, and Python is strongly preferred
Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or physics
Min 5 year experience with applying vision technology techniques, both software & hardware (illumination & optics) in engineering projects
Min 5 year experience with physical/electrical measurement techniques
Experience with instrument control, data acquisition and signal processing is a pre
Experience in Object Oriented programming is a pre
Experience with motion control is a pre
Acquaintance with Matlab is a pre
Affinity with working in a medical environment is a pre
Extensive NI Teststand experience is a pre
Affinity with innovative dynamic development projects, and feel comfortable with relatively vague requirements
An interest and preferably working experience in Agile development methodologies
Analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills in writing and speech and a supportive attitude to customers
Pragmatic, flexible and able to cope with time pressure
Experience in working in virtual (global) project teams
A team player
Fluent in English.
