Job Overview:

We are in the process of hiring a Field Executive for a company dealing in Waste Management who will be responsible for establishing a good relationship with the Safai Saathis in the overall Waste Management structure. Inform and educate the Safai Saathi and Scrap Dealers about their existing legal rights.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identification of all Scrap Dealers within the designated clusters.
  • Conducting surveys of all identified scrap dealers, supervising the volunteers who are conducting the surveys.
  • Identify active Scrap Dealers in the informal plastic market for formalization process.
  • Organize partner and registered Scrap Dealer meeting on a regular basis, collect feedback and support them on their legal compliance and operational challenges.
  • Design the awareness workshops for scrap dealers on legality and formalization of their practices.
  • Supervise the workshops and the field operation.
  • Update the designated forms regarding the scrap dealers.
  • Fill out the workers form after each activity with clear documentation such as videos and pictures.
  • Make sure all the registered Safai Saathis have bank accounts.
  • Follow up and ensure enrollment on the mandatory schemes for all the assigned Safai Saathis; update the form accordingly.
  • Ensure the distribution and usage of PPE at all time at work by the Sadai Sathis.
  • Build a network with local volunteers and organizations for extra support regarding our social support activity.
  • Accommodate volunteers and train them on the required skills.
  • Follow up with the necessary government bodies and organization for formalization of Partner and registered Scrap Dealers.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to travel around to informal waste markets and follow up accordingly.
  • Ability to train and supervise field volunteers.
  • Flexibility in time and movement.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders including government and other local bodies.
  • Good communication, problem solving and presentation skills.
  • Ability to converse in local, Hindi and English languages.
  • Good writing skills in either English or the local language for writing formal letters.
  • Familiarity with feeding data in Google forms; excel sheets and word documents as well as other digital tools.
  • Minimum understanding regarding the local social and environmental challenges within the community.
  • Minimum degree required: Graduate with preference in social or human sciences.
