Colour Designer

This position provides support to the R&D and Technology Function. The position is responsible for performing relatively complex administrative and operations support duties for the R&D Organization. The Technical Coordinator will work in support of Research and Development. This position is involved in the daily ordering and receiving of raw materials, set-up of formulations in SAP, datasheet creation, and other activities focused on development of new products and productivity improvements of existing products.

Ensures that color samples are developed in accordance with customer specifications at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance. This position operates with a high degree of autonomy and requires little to no day-to-day direction.

Essential Functions:

· Develops new formulas for color samples which meet customer business and product needs.

· Utilizes automated systems and technology (SAP, PC, Color Computer, etc.) to develop, diagnose and/or improve processes and resolve customer issues.

· Completes formulations of color concentrates, Liquid, Freeze-Dri, and Dry Color products in a timely, cost efficient, and effective manner.

· Records and communicates formulations in a clear and unambiguous manner, noting any special features or requirements.

· Performs required Quality Control checks on all color matches prior to the shipment of samples. Functions as Quality Associate for samples as required.

· Works with formulation team to ensure availability of key raw materials needed for new product development. Performs routine cycle count checks to ensure inventory accuracy.

· Works with formulation team to create Bills of Material and Inspection Plans in SAP for production of new materials.

· May own SMDC (master data integrity)

· Creates and modifies datasheets, working closely with product formulators and product management.

· May be responsible for RMRC for Europe and provides back-up for Shenzhen, China.

· May oversee IMS up-dates and downloads.

· Carry out projects which further enhance good data integrity and streamline the process around master data by coordinating changes with other departments (R & D, Technical Service, Manufacturing, etc.).

· Orders supplies as necessary.

· Develops and maintains a safe working environment and good housekeeping conditions.

· Ensures that all SAP paperwork is completed properly and accurately.

· Observes applicable Safety, Health, and Environmental rules and guidelines. Uses appropriate personal protective equipment.

· Attends and participates in training opportunities and seminars relevant to this position.

· Works with minimal supervision on individual projects; manage time effectively and efficiently.

· Will be responsible for various special assignments in safety, environmental, and process as needed.

· Support and participate in Kaizen events

· Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma or PGD in plastics with 0-3 years of experience.

· Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

· Attention to detail and problem solving skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Strong organizational and planning skills

· Proficient in MS Office

Salary: ₹200,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
