About the team

The IMCS DBA team operates within Managed Cloud Services and overseas managed database services on a global scale. As a shared model DBA team, we are providing support to 30+ MSP customers.

Responsibilities –

• Manage and administer DB2 databases, with a focus on DB2 LUW (Linux, Unix, Windows) environments.
• Perform database installation, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring efficient operations.
• Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with development teams to support database requirements for applications.
• Plan and execute database backup and recovery strategies.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and new features in DB2.
• Provide on-call support as needed. Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience as a DB2 Database Administrator.
• Proficient in DB2 LUW administration and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of database security principles and best practices.
• Experience with database backup and recovery strategies.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Database Administrator) are a plus.
