Our engines power aircraft in every major sector, including transport, combat, patrol, trainers, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles.Job Summary:Working directly for the Chief Engineer – Orpheus Works, you will be the focal point for teams of engineers of varying experience in support of Programme engineering objectives in RRIPL.  This is a technical role with significant people leadership responsibility, interfacing primarily with Orpheus Works, but is also expected to work across the Defence division effectively to ensure an appropriate technical oversight over all engineering activities in RRIPL as required.What you will be doing:·Assist the Chief Engineers and Whole Engine Design teams in ensuring regional compliance with the group Product Safety and Health, Safety and Environment policies and processes. ·Be a key technical interface in the division, working with Whole Engine Design teams in Defence to translate customer technical requirements into product technical attributes and divisional ET&S objectives. ·Ensure the approved load in your team is robustly integrated into the overarching Programme Integrated Master Schedule and perform the required engineering Programme management to ensure right-first-time, on-time delivery to the customer in accordance with the approved budget.·Working with the Chief Engineers and Whole Engine Design teams, support the creation and sustainment of the relevant product and technology roadmap(s).·Lead the timely adoption of new engineering capability (process, methods and tools) delivered by group ET&S to realize a continuous engineering efficiency and improvement culture.·Ensure a strict adherence to the divisional security policy in your team per all applicable customer/partner/consortium requirements (inc. Export Control and Product Cyber).·Work with the Chief Engineers and Whole Engine Design teams to proactively identify the required engineering skills development pipeline and divisional ET&S capacity required, sustaining Divisional ET&S engineering capability and product knowledge (Suitably Qualified and Experienced People) - support divisional and group ET&S Strategic Workforce Planning activities as required.·Effectively line-manage your teams in accordance with all divisional and group policies e.g. performance management, training, career development, work booking etc. Who we’re looking for:·Professionally qualified Engineer·Up to date, relevant engineering expertise  ·Self-starter with an ability to deal with ambiguity.·Demonstrable engineering leadership of successfully delivered projects/tasks to time, cost, quality.·Experience of collaboration with diverse teams from different cultures·Knowledge of customer and government relations and/or experience of working in a partnership would be beneficial.We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and exceptional benefits.
