As a Program Manager in Global Customer Service (GCS), you will play a pivotal role in leading business initiatives and implementing program management best practices. This is a dynamic role, and you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of strategic initiatives and programs on a global and cross-functional scale. A strategic mindset and ability to support effective project/program execution will be key to ensuring success. The successful candidate will work with teams across GCS, Enterprise Services, and the wider PayPal Organization.

Meet Our Team:
Our Business Operations team support key activities within Global Customer Service (GCS) and consists of Analysts and Program Managers focused on different activities, from supporting Business Planning, to Program Management to GCS Communications.
As we are a small team, there will be opportunities to learn and support others in the team over time.
Your way to Impact:
As a Program Manager you are responsible for coordinating project and program resources for initiatives within the selected functional area portfolio. The position will involve leadership team engagement and status reporting on initiatives within the portfolio. A successful Program manager will influence program and project prioritization, facilitating trade-off discussions to maximize available resources. This role is responsible for supporting GCS leadership in overseeing and managing programs and projects throughout the entire life cycle. The goal is to achieve enterprise objectives most optimally. You will be able to work independently with minimal guidance and direction. You will also make decisions that influence the achievement of customer, operational program, or service objectives.
Your Day to Day:
Ensures the coordinated management of complex programs within a specified timeframe for the successful delivery of commitments.
Establishes and nurtures relationships with business, product, and technology partners to facilitate delivery. This includes identifying risks, issues, and dependencies as well as managing resource limitations.
Creates detailed project plans, including setting milestones and adjusting schedules and targets as necessary.
Leads planning sessions, monitors progress and conducts regular reviews at the program and project level to maintain strong project management control. Implements appropriate governance techniques to manage changes.
Recognizes project efficiencies, and dependencies across projects and makes appropriate recommendations to leadership on optimal solutions.
Manage projects that expand the reach and capability of GCS across the suite of Paypal brands and geographies
Identify program impediments and develop mitigation places to resolve including appropriate escalation to individuals/groups as needed
Contribute to the development and build out of robust PMO processes
This Business Operations function also plays a leading role in GCS Location Strategy, site selection, expansion, or consolidation initiatives. With these projects comes specific tasks related to contract negotiation, running Global RFP’s and collaborating with specialist departments (IT, Training, Risk, BCP, WFM, Legal, Procurement etc.).
What do you need to bring:

Technology – Have a strong fundamental understanding of IT development and change, and comfortable working in an often technology heavy environment.
Self-starter with a strong drive to deliver excellent results in a collaborative manner and passionate about making a difference and driving positive change. Ability to work across multiple lines of business managing large scale, complex project initiatives and various project elements simultaneously, with high attention to detail and accuracy, despite competing priorities.
Commercial acumen and negotiation skills to effectively contribute to business objectives.
Strong communicator, both written and verbal, with an ability to summarize complex issues to senior leadership.
Project Planning, documentation, risk, and issue management are all critical to the successful program, therefore experience in keeping detailed documentation and status reports is key.
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment. Possesses solid analytical, problem-solving, and critical/creative thinking skills.
8 years of experience with large-scale project management or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
PMP® or Prince2 certification is preferred but not required.
