Objectives:


The main responsibility of the Therapy & Business Development Manager is to establish Impella & Heart Recovery as new Standard of Care in an assigned region. by executing key therapy development activities, training and leading the clinical and partner field force.

Assignments/Tasks (in a nutshell):


  • Therapy Development: The main goal of the Therapy Development Manager is to establish Impella & Heart Recovery as new Standard of Care in the Indian Subcontinent . This will be achieved through establishing our brand and through training MDs & hospital staff about the appropriate use of Impella ensuring excellent clinical outcomes. Establish peer-to-peer networks across the region to share best practices. Plan regular visits to all institutions with active Impella programs to monitor activity and collect clinically relevant data. Staff and follow up major conferences & local heart failure symposiums meaningfully in partnership with Marketing and peer to peer education
  • Account Management/ Account Training: Enable and drive our patient growth and clinical performance in key centres throughout the India Subcontient region for all our indications (by priority). Coordinate our strategy with distributors, implement/lead clinical activities and establish a transparent case reporting like our direct distribution markets. Initiate and coordinate Abiomed customer training programs to develop/expand physician skills to drive the Impella adoption in active sites as well in new sites. Establish new Abiomed Centres of Excellence in India.
  • Lead, develop and manage the Abiomed Clinical Team
  • Patient Support: Improve patient outcomes constantly by implementing latest Abiomed clinical strategies, supporting clinical staff within the cathlab, OR and ICU. Perform After Action Review’s with MD’s following each case. Establish peer-to-peer networks across the region to share best practices. Plan regular visits to all institutions with active Impella programs to monitor activity and collect clinically relevant data.
  • Distribution partners support: Establish strong relationships to our distribution partners in the India. Execute quarterly strategy meetings and After Action Reviews to monitor progress and to ensure continuous learning and improvement. Ensure weekly communication with distribution partners to align & ensure that they meet Abiomed’s expectations
  • Ability to travel 80% ww.

Requirements:


Educational Skills:

Bachelor and Master (of science) in a health care discipline required.
MD, PhD preferred.


Working Experience:


Qualifications

10+ years overall experience in the healthcare setting within device/pharma industry or hospital

5+ years of Clinical Leadership experience

Cardiac Surgery or Cardiology background preferred

Setting.3+ years of experience working existing strong relationships with KOLs (Heart Surgery,Interventional Cardiologists, Heart Failure Cardiologists).


Special Requirements:

Fluent in English, with strong meeting facilitating and public speaking skills

Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and

written). Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Must possess a passion for training and education and strive for training excellence.

Must have strong interpersonal and teaching skills.

Business acumen and ability to set direction in highly dynamic environment.
