Brief on the Organization:

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health.  PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders. Project Brief:

The NIHR Global Health Research Centre aims to improve care for people with multiple long term conditions by co-designing, implementing and evaluating context specific digital intervention through publc health care system. The intervention will be implemented in Visakhapatnam, Jodhpur and Kathmandu. In addition, the Centre will engage with communities, stakeholders and build capacity of researchers and research supporting staff. The Centre will be co-led by PHFI and University of Leicester.

Deliverables:
  • Help conceptualize and plan research activities under the Centre.
  • Conduct literature review and contribute to research design.
  • Oversee data collection, identify errors in data and coordinate with the team members to correct the errors.
  • Clean the data and prepare data sets for analysis and storage.
  • Author statistical analysis plan and perform statistical analysis using appropriate methods.
  • Prepare reports of the interim and final analysis.
  • Manage independently the statistical aspects of the projects under the Centre.
  • Contribute to writing manuscripts, reports and policy briefs.
  • Collaborate with partners based in India, Nepal and the UK.
  • Contribute to capacity building efforts of early career researchers affiliated with the Centre.
  • Supervise PhD students.
  • Deliver short courses on statistical methodology.
  • Develop professional networks and apply for research funding.
  • Keep abreast of newer statistical methods.
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor
Qualification:

Essential:

  • PhD in statistics, demography or any other equivalent degree.
Experience:

Essential:

  • Around 02 years of experience working as a biostatistician or in a similar role Proficient in using Stata/R for data analysis.
