We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our Global Research (GR) team based in Bangalore in the role ofsupporting COO and Control Office functions.

Opportunity


  • The Business Management – Risk and Controls (CCO support function) in Bangalore is an extension of the GR COO Office. It plays an important role in partnering with senior management in embedding, remediation and improvement of the control environment in respect of key risks to the Global Research business, including the testing and assurance requirements of the Group Operational Risk Management Framework. The role will deliver on control related priorities in a well-organized, effective, and collaborative manner.
  • The role holder would support the Control Office in execution of an effective risk management program with primary responsibilities of supporting, including not limited to, Supervisory, Assurance, Administration of Risk Systems, Governance and Control Process, Reviews and Due Diligence, Control MI, etc., contributing to the control effectiveness. The position includes responsibilities related to a variety of risk categories and related areas such as operational and resilience risk, business continuity, audit remediation, compliance, regulatory adherence, and information security.

What you’ll do:


  • Lead and manage Supervisory responsibilities in order to ensure clear accountability and oversight of overall risks and controls within the Control Office.
  • Assist in the development of testing scripts for the review of Research owned controls as part of Thematic reviews.
  • Execute plan to evaluate the design and test the effectiveness of key controls within area of responsibility including but not limited to operational risk and specific regulations including Conflicts of Interest, Information control and security risk, Data governance etc.
  • Gain good understanding of the Helios, the Non-financial risk aggregation and reporting platform
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Global Research business and requirements as detailed in Global Research Desk Instruction Manual (DIM) and applicable policies from the Functional Instruction Manuals (FIM)
  • Help implement and support a plan to achieve risk management goals of the business/function, including control testing, monitoring and reporting requirements, identifying issues and remediation actions, events reporting and management
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure risks are mitigated and fall within risk appetite and threshold
  • Sufficiently document testing details and results utilizing internal control testing methodologies
  • Based on the activities in the area under review, identify key areas of risk or concern
  • Report results of control testing, identify trends, and escalate issues to onshore management
  • Work with onshore staff in remediation of any breaches in risk management
  • Assist onshore staff in conducting risk assessment certification/sign off by business/function
  • Assist in the timely remediation of issues, including internal and external audit observations and regulatory findings
  • Document and monitor progress of remedial actions for issues
  • Ensure documented procedures and guides remain current and are aligned to the processes taking place
  • Exhibit solid time management to complete reviews scheduled in a timely manner
  • Actively participate in business control and other governance committees where nominated with appropriate discharge of the assigned responsibilities
