Automotive Electro-Mechanical system design lead - Deputy Manager

Job Purpose

To lead Electro-mechanical systems like Starting/charging systems, switches, relays, lighting etc for automotive applications as in 2 wheelers.  

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Sound knowledge on Electro-mechanical system design and manufacturing process with 12+ years recommended.
  • Strong understanding of child components related to starting & charging system, Switches & relays, lighting systems like Flywheel magneto, starter motor, starter relays, handlebar switches, lighting systems etc.
  • Should have good practical knowledge in 3D modeling using CREO modeling, assembly and surfacing.
  • Should have good experience on product planning and full development cycle of electrical hardware systems.
  • Experience in design and performance testing of Flywheel magneto, starter motor, battery (VRLA & Li-Ion), starter solenoids, switches, relays etc.
  • Experience in simulation modeling software like Matlab is preferred.
  • Experience in design calculation for overall electrical loads, charge balance estimate, starting power requirements, power switch devices etc.
  • Should have good team handling skills, Cross functional communication skills etc.
  • Excellent knowledge about component selection and assembly process of all electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience on 2D layout drawing creation with manufacturing requirements is recommended.
  • Knowledge and practice of DFMEA, PFMEA, DFA/DFS for electro-mechanical systems is recommended.
  • Good knowledge on testing methodologies of starting & charging system, battery, relays etc are preferred.
  • Need experience on PLM windchill for component lifecycle management.
  • Strong knowledge on VAVE and alternate source development is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge on component level and vehicle level testing methodologies for harness application.



Work Experience

Education

Bachelors in Engineering / Bachelors in Technology (Preferred - EEE / ECE)

 

Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in electro-mechanical system design.
  • Expertise on starting & charging system, battery (VRLA & Li-ion), starter solenoids, relays, switches & lighting systems.
  • In-depth knowledge on starting & charging system, battery (VRLA & Li-ion), starter solenoids, relays design and testing specification required.
  • Experience on Design tools like Creo modeling, assembly, and surfacing.
  • Exposure to DFMEA, Design guidelines, DFM, DFA/DFS etc. is preferred.
  • Must have experience on product planning and guiding team members.
  • Must have experience on industrialisation of systems from trial builds up to mass production.
  • Experience on issue resolution methodologies preferred.
