Alfa Laval is seeking Automation Engineer for Control Systems to join our global Automation Development team. You'll play a crucial role in advancing our Control Systems and contributing to our mission of achieving "autonomous operation" for our core products. What you will do.
As an Automation Engineer for Control Systems at Alfa Laval, you will be engaged in a dynamic Agile environment throughout the entire product lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Software engineering on PLC and HMI platform for Alfa Laval products, involving feature breakdown, task specification, programming, testing, documentation, source code management, deployment, and issue tracking.
  • Web-based HMI development.
  • Collaborating closely with our UX designers to enhance user experiences.
  • Establishing global automation standards for the platforms we use through cross-site collaboration.
  • Working in sprints as a part of a self-organizing team, contributing to the evolution of our products.
  • Life cycle management of PLC / HMI software.

Your Background & Experience
A university degree, preferably a Master’s (MSc, MEng, MTech) or Bachelor’s (BSc, BEng, BTech), in any of the following fields: Mechatronics, Control & Automation, Embedded Systems, Industrial Automation, Electrical & Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, or Computer Science, or a related field.
Alternatively, a technical education that will support your success in the field of Industrial Automation.

Must Have
  • Extensive experience in PLC software development using Structured Text (ST) and other IEC-61131-3 programming languages, C, C++ and/or experience with embedded systems.
  • More than 3 years of work experience in software development and standardizations, with PLC platform and/or embedded systems.
  • Knowledge in Software Development Models & Methods (OOP, S88, PackML)
  • Proficiency with B&R Automation Studio.
  • Experience with Git.
  • Knowledge of web technologies, including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Experience in industrial communication protocols such as ProfNet, EtherNet/IP, Ethernet Powerlink, EtherCAT, Modbus, Profibus and OPC-UA.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • A customer-focused mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time.
