Job Description
- Position Name:Asst. EHS Manager
Reports to (Job – Role): Cluster EHS Manager/Segment EHS Head
Reportee (Job – Role): EHSOs
Qualification: Diploma/B-tech in Electrical/Mechanical/civil engineering with an industrial safety diploma course from a recognized institute.- B-Tech Fire & Safety from approved college Or Science graduate with Diploma/PG Diploma in Industrial Safety.
- Industrial Safety Diploma from RLI/CLI and NEBOSH credential will be an advantage.
Experience: Minimum- 6+ Years in EHS
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure implementation of EHS policy.
- Appraise the management on EHS status & help formulate appropriate policies for continual improvement.
- Work under Cluster EHSMs/SEHSH guidance and monitoring.
- Liaise with external agencies/clients /customers.
- Monitor the state / cluster specific changes in the applicable legal requirements and communicates the changes among team.
- Ensure the implementation of the EHS management system and norms as per the IMS and EHS Manual, respectively.
- Designing and imparting training for staff, subcontractor, workmen, visitors.
- Review and monitoring EHS performance of sites including compliance to legal requirements.
- Conduct site EHS inspections.
- Organizing & conducting EHS audits.
- Prepare Project specific EHS Plans for the project.
- Co-ordinate for preparing the EHS Risk assessment & Safe Work Method.
- Organize campaigns, competitions & other special emphasis programmes to promote EHS at workplace.
- Co-ordinate on purchase and quality control of PPEs / safety gadgets as per the specifications.
- Assist Segment EHS Head in vendor assessment so as to ensure usage of quality products.
- Investigate all serious incidents & initiate necessary corrective actions at the site.
- Analyze incident trends & initiate necessary Proactive measures at Project site.
- Act as a catalyst for establishing, implementing & maintaining emergency preparedness and response procedure at the site.
- Collating and reporting the site EHS performance to the cluster.
- Appraising Management on EHS Performance on regular intervals.
- To organize EHS Audit/Inspections as per schedule.
- To provide / arrange to provide necessary EHS training to all employees based on the project requirement.
- Maintain all EHS related documents of the project and provide when required by management or site audit team.
- Arranging & Coordinating Project review meeting
- Visit to all site / work location to perform survey, inspection to assess the IMS performance.
- Stop work activities on behalf of management in any activity possess imminent danger to Environment, Health & Safety.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good computer knowledge with general software such as MS-Office, MS -Excel, Power point, Email etc.
