Assistant Manager, Direct Tax & Compliance

Overview

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Direct Tax compliances such as monthly withholding tax, filing of quarterly withholding tax returns, equalization levy compliances, advance tax, corporate tax returns, applying for lower withholding tax, obtaining registrations wherever needed etc for India as well as overseas subsidiaries.
• Monthly review of books of India as well as overseas subsidiaries from tax perspective including income tax provisions, deferred tax etc.
• Working closely with the tax consultant and internal team to close tax audits and statutory audit.
• Independently handling various tax assessments and appeals for Cactus Group including overseas subsidiaries.
• Provide assistance to function head on managing critical tax issues, implementation of key tax projects, handling FEMA and other related regulations wherever needed.
• Working knowledge and experience in handling transfer pricing compliances including monthly inter-company billing, transfer pricing report, filing of returns etc.

Qualifications and Prerequisites

• Qualified CA with 5 to 6 years’ experience in taxation either with an industry or with tax consulting firm.
• Sound technical knowledge and understanding of Direct Taxation and international taxation.
• Working knowledge of transfer pricing compliances.
• Candidate having overseas Direct Tax compliances or India InDirect Tax compliances experience would be preferred.
• Good analytical and time management skills.
• Excellent spoken English and good email writing skills including technical drafting.
• Sound knowledge of ERP (preferably Oracle) and intermediate to advance level knowledge of excel.
