Hybrid Working
Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.
Introduction

  • The purpose of this role within BFA (Barclays Financial Assistance) analytics, i.e. the provision of data driven analytics for the management of multiple portfolios (UK Cards, Customer Home Assistance, Secured/Unsecured Loans, Mortgages, Barclays Partner Finance, Barclays Payment Issuing).
  • To maximise the performance of BFA vertical, associated data and processes by contributing directly to the business by extracting more meaning out of the data through analysis.
  • Handling sensitive transactions data and creating remediation reports for the collections team to process on priority.
  • Assimilate a variety of disparate data sources into a cohesive and accurate portrayal of operational performance, including the facilitation of a robust data architecture to help key operation stakeholders in Collections
What will you be doing?
  • The analyst will report directly to the Analytical Manager(AVP) and Head of Operational Analytics in UK.
  • Ensure adherence to daily schedule and provide daily/weekly/monthly reports to the client on SLAs and metrics.
  • Constantly look for opportunities to improve MI (Automation of existing MI reports) and data quality, also identify trends and anomalies.
  • Always aim to create automation solutions rather than manually working in recurrence.
  • Required to interact with various roles and departments within Barclays Financial Assistance in order to obtain detailed information on projects, requirements and products.
  • Creating meaningful and insightful dashboards for senior leadership (VPs and Directors).
  • Ability to interpret and convey analytical concepts verbally, visually and in written format to individuals of various levels.
  • Ensure MI Manager is informed of any issues, and stakeholder expectations are managed.
  • Ensure all findings are reported clearly and accurately, and that recommendations are logical and compelling.
  • Manage and monitor quality for own work.
  • Act as an interface with the client to resolve issues/ disagreements, if any.
  • Review of analytical deliveries & ad-hoc requests and their completeness from quality timeline and usability
  • Provide technical/domain cross trainings to co-colleagues if required and brainstorm together to find the most optimal solution to outstanding issues.
  • Act as a self-motivating change maker, enhancing the delivering capabilities of the business.
  • Should be able to manage small to medium size projects independently.
What we’re looking for:
  • Analytical ability: Must have a clear understanding and experience in performing data analysis using complex data. Experience of producing insightful analysis from disparate data sources.
  • Technical skills: Strong competence in creating scripts/dashboards and data analysis via Tableau, SAS, SQL, Excel. Working knowledge of Hadoop is essential.
  • Educational Qualification: Graduate in Mathematics/Statistics/Economics/B. Tech/BE.
  • Team work: Ability to work within cross-functional and virtual teams across locations.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to think quickly understandable way for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Innovation: Ability to develop innovative ways to solve complex problems, within particular constraints.
  • Planning and Organization: Ability to prioritize work in order to maximize value for the business.
  • Project Management: Should be able to manage small to medium size projects independently.
  • Work Management: Able to manage time effectively and prioritize own workload and also able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust priorities as required.
  • Organizational awareness: Ability to see the ‘whole picture’ and recognize the impact and opportunities of activities across the organization.
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Technical skills: Concepts of machine learning and their implementation using Python. Strong experience in Tableau visualization.
  • Educational Qualification: Post Graduate in Business Analytics will be an added advantage.
  • Banking / Collections experience preferred
