Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research), or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in data analysis or a data science setting.
- Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Julia) and database languages (e.g., SQL).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research).
- Experience in applying machine learning techniques to large datasets.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., C/C++, Python, Java).
- Experience in abuse and fraud disciplines focused on web security, harmful content moderation, and threat analysis.
- Ability to generate actionable insights to drive business impact.

The Scaled Protections team safeguards Generative AI experiences across Google products for all users, including enterprise clients. By developing and deploying safety classifiers, both server-side and on-device, the team ensures the distribution of safe and policy-compliant content.

Responsibilities
- Develop scalable safety solutions for AI products across Google by leveraging advanced machine learning and AI techniques.
- Apply cutting-edge statistical and data science methods to examine Google's protection measures, uncover potential shortcomings, and develop actionable insights to continuously strengthen security.
- Conduct analysis to uncover opportunities for improvement and generate key insights to inform the roadmap of partner teams. Drive business outcomes by telling compelling data stories to a variety of stakeholders.
- Develop automated data pipelines and self-service dashboards to provide timely insights at scale.
