The position requires breadth managing the suppliers and driving the supplier improvement projects in Supplier Readiness organization as SQE across multiple programs and products, working directly with suppliers daily, influencing / working closely with the sourcing & engineering. The successful candidate should be able to effectively communicate with senior management, have a big picture strategic mindset, handle multiple priorities, influence, and solve complex problems.
This position will be responsible for supplier quality/ development activities in Supplier Quality Engineering function reporting to Director – India SQE
Key Tasks and Responsibilities.
1. Identify and provide a 'way forward' for specific issues involving quality escapes or delayed
2. Evaluation of new Suppliers as per Honeywell Aerospace standards
3. Ensure compliance to Aerospace Procedures & quality requirements for all regional projects
4. Perform all Field Quality Engineering functions at a limited/assigned number of suppliers for the purpose of testing the effectiveness of procedures and policy at controlling supplier quality
5. Support FQE team on Supplier training programs to improve the regional supplier maturity level
6. Provide technical leadership to coordinate advanced quality processes including statistical based variation reduction, APQP
7. Drive regional performance improvement initiatives using DMAIC approach
8. Establishes QIP and improvement plans with supplier leadership
9. Program managing the Improvement projects within or/ outside organization.
Educational Qualifications and Primary Skills:
- Engg Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production/ supply chain Engineering or equivalent.
- 4-5 years of working experience in manufacturing organization (Aerospace, Automobile)
- Hands on experience of working in any one or more commodity – Complex Machining, Sheet metal , Casting , Forging. (mechanical manufacturing industry)
- Expertise in GD&T, drawing reading, , ISO / TS16949, AS9100 Quality system and auditing skill
- Experience on deploying APQP at suppliers on NPI programs
- Strong Quality Engineering capability including auditing, RCCA, QMS knowledge, inspection planning, functional test application strategy, and overall process control from a risk mitigation approach.
- Experience on Six sigma/ quality Tools. Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Preferred
- Program management skills are essential
- Very Good communication skills. Experience on working with global suppliers/ customers
- Willingness to travel within & out of India
- A Professional Certification (ASQ-CQE/CQA) is an advantage
