AddressBasic Function and Scope of Responsibilities (other duties as assigned):
Reporting to the VP of Operations, the incumbent will assist in the design, analysis, and implementation of manufacturing projects to meet corporate goals including the support of licensees/franchises with process design and/or improvements, training of personnel, and start-up. This individual will provide back-up to the Production Manager and Production Supervisor in the Mill.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Monitor and improve efficiency, output, and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel.
- Work closely with outside contractors and manufacturing personnel on coordinating the installation of new equipment and other manufacturing projects.
- Responsible for the implementation of new equipment and processes and meeting specified timelines and budgets that pertain to such.
- Provide direction and support personnel in the implementation of manufacturing projects.
- Provides technical support to international and domestic customers via phone, e-mail, and on-site visitations.
- Provide back-up support as needed to the Production Manager and the Production Supervisor.
- Directs the work of the maintenance workers to ensure accurate and timely performance of assigned tasks.
- Responsible for the recommendations in selection of manufacturing equipment and carries significant weight in making purchasing decisions in this regard.
- Performs written reviews and audits of Zeigler franchises.
- Domestic and international travel required, as needed.
- Member of the Operations Leadership Team.
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent

- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees/management throughout the organization
- Mechanical Aptitude / Automated Manufacturing Systems
- Understand basic quality concepts
- Must be detail-oriented
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the feed manufacturing business with a broad knowledge of all manufacturing methods and production planning. Must hve exposure to all areas of the plant’s operations
- Previous supervisory experience is helpful
- Ability to promote team environment and cooperation between departments and operations to meet manufacturing objectives
- Proficient in Microsoft Operating System (ie. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Certifications:
- Certified to operate a forklift or willing to train to operate a forklift.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Supervises the Maintenance workers
Working Conditions
Physical surrounding:
Basic computer knowledge, printer, scanner, and other machines as required.
Adverse working environment:
Must be able to sustain daily exposure to dust, noise, heat, and cold.
Exposure to dangerous machinery and other hazardous conditions requiring safety adherence to PPE, safety rules, and procedures at all times.
Physical Effort:
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, reach, and lift at least 25 Kgs on a continuous basis.
Must pass a job-related pre-employment physical and drug-alcohol screening.
