Title: Deputy General Manager - Research and Development (Pharmacology)
How would you describe this position in 2-3 lines?
Lead a team of researchers to support projects related activities pertaining to in vivo oncology for different modalities (small molecules, biologicals, etc.) entailing new model development; screening and interpretation of results, generation of new ideas and new target identification and validation. The role requires extensive cross – functional collaboration and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Expertise in core preclinical oncology drug discovery and Development is desired.
What are the key responsibility of the role?
- Oversees in vivo screening experiments and generate repots in a timely manner
- Independently design and execute new experiments and develop CDX/PDX models and validate them
- Effectively coordinate inter-departmental communication to facilitate timely execution of tasks and data communication. Present key finding in project team meeting and to senior management
- Interact with external collaborators/CROs/Academic partners to provide high quality, timely and on-budget studies
- Mentor and train group members to facilitates their professional growth
- Generate new ideas: conduct and assist in target evaluations & due diligence on internal and external ideas
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in team environment with passion and enthusiasm for pharmacology and drug discovery
- Desire and ability to work in a fast paced, cross-functional, flexible and team-oriented environment
- Aptitude for maintaining flexibility to respond to changing project priorities
Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of drug discovery process and preclinical pharmacology assessments
- Thorough understanding and experimental experience in immuno-oncology is desirable
- Expertise with multiple and diverse molecular techniques for study of biomarkers in in vivo studies
- Hands on experience in CDX and PDX models to evaluate efficacy; molecular biology techniques - IHC, WB, FACS, RT-PCR, ELISA, imaging, etc to assess biomarkers and translational relevance.
Educational Qualification & Work Experience
- A Ph.D./post-doc in pharmacology or a related field
- At least 12-14 years of experience in pharmacology in the drug discovery and Development research division
