Practice Area Management & Operations team members keep BCG's industry and functional Practice Areas operating responsively and efficiently. As a member of this team, you will contribute directly to the success of our business through a number of roles, including content development, process management, marketing, meeting and conference management, and internal/external communications.

The Social Impact Practice Area (SI PA) is core to BCG's purpose, values, and ambition of becoming the most positively impactful company in the world. Our growth is powered in part by our Global Impact Investment Fund committed by BCG to deliver impact on the world's greatest challenges.

As a Practice Area Analyst within SI PA, you will execute and coordinate business operational support for the Global Impact Investment Fund and Practice Area Finances. You will independently support the investment processes and business intelligence for the Social Impact PA. This will require to

  • Engage different stakeholders to provide insights for data driven decision making on a wide-ranging use cases.

  • Support forecasting revenue and business momentum based on investment data, YTD status and pipeline in collaboration with topic managers and Finance departments.

  • Analyzing composition of PA portfolio across various parameters (e.g., region, system, topic, business, IPA)

  • Monitoring and developing (where appropriate) key performance indicators (e.g. NCC, price points, global and local investments, global pro bono partners budgets, win rates and commercial performance insights, competitors' monitoring, etc.); this requires working collaboratively with local, regional and global stakeholders addressing a broad set of internal and external metrics and bringing together different data sources and tools into aggregated views.

The role will need to leverage latest technology and best practices to deliver results, agility, efficiency and quality for data and visualization. You will regularly maintain dashboards and carry out ad hoc financial reporting and as well as managing PA resources. The role will also support a range of adhoc activities such as investment operations, budgets / business reporting, business analytics, impact analytics and support to people, marketing efforts.

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-4+ years relevant experience

  • Experience in data visualization using Tableau (Tableau Desktop and Server) and Tableau certification will be a plus

  • Strong analytics concepts and have applied the same in past projects (example: data correlation, forecasting, creating complex visuals and usage of tableau extensions)

  • Good SQL & data warehouse skills (comfortable with writing SQL codes, nested queries, creating table/views)

  • Ability to work with large data sets both structured and unstructured data

  • Professional experience in building robust data pipelines using ETL tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Professional, service oriented, pro-active and flexible attitude

  • Proficiency in Outlook, PowerPoint, and Advanced Excel is a must

  • Business and Financial reporting and analysis.

  • All aspects of data analytics including mining, scrubbing and visualization.

  • Understanding popular data analysis tools and databases Visualization, storytelling, and best practices to convey insights in an intuitive and visually compelling way.

  • Defining relevant metrics and influencing key stakeholders with actionable insights.

  • Executing defined tasks independently, seeking guidance as needed.

  • Solving problems with a forward-thinking mindset, suggesting workarounds and bringing excellent organization skills.

  • Developing judgement and thinking analytically through alternatives.

You will coordinate closely with Global SI Investments and Business Intelligence Senior Manager, the Global Practice Management Director, sector/topic Managers as well as the Business Services team, alongside Practice Area Coordinators both within the practice and across others.
