Job Description
Position: Mechanical Draughtsman - HVAC and Fire Protection Systems
Job Summary: The Mechanical Draughtsman specializing in HVAC and Fire Protection Systems will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans to support the design and implementation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and fire protection systems. This role requires proficiency in drafting software, attention to detail, and collaboration with engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting:
- Create accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings, schematics, and plans for HVAC and fire protection systems based on engineering designs.
- Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with HVAC and fire protection engineers to translate design concepts into detailed drawings.
- Collaborate with architects and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical designs into overall project plans.
- Material and Equipment Specification:
- Assist in selecting and specifying materials and equipment required for HVAC and fire protection systems.
- Maintain a comprehensive library of drafting components and symbols.
- Documentation:
- Prepare and update project documentation, including drawing sets, revisions, and as-built drawings.
- Organize and maintain an organized filing system for drawings and related documents.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct reviews of drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design standards.
- Address any discrepancies or issues identified during the review process.
- Software Proficiency:
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD) proficiently for drafting purposes.
- Stay updated on the latest software tools and technologies relevant to mechanical drafting.
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Diploma in Mechanical or a related field.
- 3-6years Proven experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman, preferably in HVAC and fire protection systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant software REVIT etc.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Understanding of HVAC and fire protection system components and principles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.
