AddressGeneral tasks include: 1. Maintaining & supporting the networking environment. 2. Undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources. 3. Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, carrying out / supporting upgrades, and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.Designing & implementing system configuration and defined system standards. 5. Implementing new solutions and improving resilience of the current environment. 6. Migrating data from old servers to new. 7. Upgrading various software as mentioned above and liaising with the software vendors to resolve 'systems' issues. 8. Securing network systems by enforcing policies and monitoring access 9. Support and administration of firewall environments in line with IT security policy. 10. Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations. 11. Upgrading data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases. 12. Configuration of routing and switching equipment. 13. Configuration of hosted IP voice services. 14. Basic configuration of firewalls. 15. Remote support of on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation. 16. Remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur uponinitial installation. 17. Speaking with customers via email and phone for initialrequirement capture.
Qualifications & Skills A degree in the following subjects will be preferred: • computer science. • computer software/computer systems engineering. • computer systems and networks. • electrical/electronic engineering. • Mathematics. • network security management
