Tamil Nadu Shelter Fund (TNSF) is a SEBI registered AIF (Venture Capital Fund) catalysing new projects in the affordable housing sector and increasing supply of affordable housing in Tamil Nadu.
TNIFMC is looking to recruit an ESG Consultant for the Shelter Fund. The position will be based out of Chennai.
Scope of Work for this position
- Work as a member of TNSF's ESG team to undertake due diligence of all investment proposals as per TNSF's ESGMS.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder consultation and engagement
- Lead Environmental and Social Impact evaluation of TNSF's investments.
- Contribute to Impact Monitoring of TNSF's investments.
- Evaluation of investment proposal projects on ESG framework
- Preparation of ESG related sections of the investment notes
- ESG reporting to relevant stakeholders.
- Coordination with investors on ESG related issues including handling the due diligence process.
- ESG area knowledge sharing training of other team members within the organization as well training of relevant staff of investing companies projects.
Competencies, Education and Work Experience:
- A Master's degree in Sociology, Economics, Social Work (preferred), Environment Sciences or Political Science, Business Administration / Management from a recognized institution in India or abroad.
- Experience of working in WB/ADB/Impact Investor funded projects in social impact assessments / social development with specific experience in designing / implementing projects using WB's ESS or IFC's Performance Standards with at least 3 years' experience is preferable.
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Ability to think strategically, analyse and synthesize diverse related data and information
- Attention to detail a must
- Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize, deal with frequent and unexpected changes, and work within tight timeframes.
- Presentation skills with ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently, articulate issues and recommend solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.
- Knowledge of reading and spoken Tamil is desirable.
