Job description

Position Overview: The Soft Skills Trainer will be responsible for delivering comprehensive Soft Skills training programs to students and alumni of Chandigarh University, with a focus on individuals from law and media backgrounds. The trainer will develop and implement workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions to enhance students' professional skills, communication abilities, and overall employability in their respective fields.

Key Responsibilities:

Soft Skills Training:

  • Design and deliver engaging training sessions on various Soft Skills topics, such as communication skills, presentation skills, interpersonal skills, teamwork, leadership, and emotional intelligence.
  • Customize training programs specifically for students from law and media backgrounds, considering their unique career requirements and industry expectations.Utilize a variety of instructional techniques, including role-plays, group discussions, case studies, and multimedia resources, to facilitate effective learning experiences.


Workshop Development and Delivery:

  • Develop training modules, materials, and resources related to Soft Skills training for law and media students.
  • Assist students in identifying their skill gaps and provide individualized guidance and feedback to help them improve their Soft Skills.

Career Counselling Support:

  • Provide insights and guidance to students on the importance of Soft Skills in the law and media industries, and how they can enhance their professional growth.
  • Assist in the development of career-related materials, such as resume writing guides, interview preparation resources, and networking strategies specific to law and media sectors.

Industry Research and Trends:

  • Stay updated on the latest trends, best practices, and developments in the law and media industries to incorporate industry-specific knowledge into training programs.
  • Conduct research on the specific Soft Skills required for success in the law and media fields, and develop training content accordingly.
  • Evaluation and Feedback:
  • Assess the effectiveness of Soft Skills training programs through participant evaluations, feedback surveys, and other assessment methods.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate individual student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their Soft Skills.
  • Collaborate with the Career Management Cell team to track and analyse the impact of Soft Skills training on students' employability and career outcomes.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Media Studies, Communication, Psychology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the law and media industries, including their unique professional requirements.
  • Proven experience in delivering Soft Skills training or conducting workshops on communication, leadership, teamwork, and related topics.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate participants.
  • Good understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in using technology and multimedia tools for training delivery.
  • Centa/Tesol certification, that is desired.
