Job Title: Sales General Manager
Location: Chennai, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata
Department:Sales
Reports To: Chief Sales Officer or Chief Executive Officer
Job Summary:
The Sales General Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the entire sales team, driving sales growth, and ensuring the achievement of revenue targets. They are responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing sales operations, and building strong customer relationships to enhance the company's market position.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans and objectives in alignment with the company's goals and revenue targets.
- Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and potential areas for expansion.
2. Sales Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to the sales team members.
- Set and monitor sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics.
3. Sales Operations:
- Oversee the day-to-day sales operations, ensuring efficient processes and workflow.
- Monitor sales activity, pipelines, and forecasts to track progress and adjust strategies as needed.
4. Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, working to understand their needs and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Lead by example in managing strategic customer accounts and contracts.
5. Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships to expand the customer base.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key industry players and partners.
6. Sales Performance Analysis:
- Analyze sales data and market trends to provide insights and recommendations for improvements.
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance sales effectiveness.
7. Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the sales department budget, including resource allocation and cost control.
- Ensure that the sales team operates within budgetary constraints.
8. Reporting and Communication:
- Provide regular reports to senior management on sales performance and progress toward targets.
- Maintain open and effective communication channels within the sales team and with other departments.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- Proven experience in sales management or a related leadership role.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in sales management software and CRM systems.
- Results-driven and goal-oriented.
- Ability to develop and execute sales strategies that align with company objectives.
Working Conditions:
Sales General Managers typically work in an office environment, but they may need to travel for meetings, client visits, or industry events. They often work extended hours to meet sales targets and deadlines.
