Job Description:
Product Development:
Collaborate with product development teams to conceptualize, design, and create new
products or product lines.
Stay updated on industry trends, market demands, and competitor offerings to
identify opportunities for new products or improvements to existing ones.
Conduct market research to understand consumer preferences and needs.
Sourcing and Supplier Management:
Identify and establish relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness
and quality standards.
Evaluate and select suppliers based on their capabilities and the alignment with the
company's goals.
Merchandising:
Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to develop merchandising strategies
that align with the overall business objectives.
Create and implement visual merchandising plans to enhance the. presentation and
appeal of products in retail environments.
Monitor and analyze sales data to optimize product assortment and inventory levels.
Quality Control:
Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure that products meet
specified standards and regulations.
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address any issues related to product
quality or defects.
Communication and Coordination:
Act as a liaison between different departments, including design, production,
marketing, and sales, to ensure smooth communication and coordination throughout
the product development and merchandising process. Keep stakeholders informed about project timelines, challenges, and successes.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage budgets related to product development, sourcing, and
merchandising activities.
Monitor expenses and seek cost-effective solutions without compromising product
quality.
Forecasting and Planning:
Analyze market trends and sales data to develop accurate sales forecasts.
Plan and coordinate product launches and promotional events.
Compliance:
Ensure that all products comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
Stay informed about changes in regulations that may impact the production or sale of
products.
Problem Solving:
Address any challenges or issues that arise during the product development and
merchandising process, finding creative solutions to meet business objectives
Job Specification:
Bachelors degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field.
Proven experience in product development and merchandising.
Strong understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of quality control processes and standards.
Analytical and strategic thinking to drive business goals.
Proficient in using relevant software and tools for merchandising and project
management.
