People Office Practice Overview
The People Office is a strategic HR partner and enabler for our business and provides support and services to our leaders and colleagues across all of our markets to unlock the potential of our people through a differentiated culture, employee experience, and development opportunities.
Role Overview
This position will be responsible for all aspects of Human Resources services and programs for India, a strategic growth market for the firm. The role is both a strategic advisor to global and in-market business leaders and will be responsible for the delivery of HR support and services to our colleagues in the India market. Further, the role will have an opportunity to provide leadership and oversight for the delivery of HR support and services from Ankura's global shared services center, based in Gurugram.
The position will report to the People Office Senior Managing Director, EMEA/APAC, and will be a member of the extended HR leadership team. The role will be based in Gurugram and can be hybrid in terms of work location, with the expectation of in-office presence 2-3 days per week in addition to occasional travel to our offices in Mumbai and in offices in other markets.
The position offers a unique opportunity to focus on the delivery of the full breadth of People programs and practices in the India market, with future opportunity to be responsible for additional markets in our EMEA and/or APAC regions. Primary stakeholders include in-market business leaders and colleagues, global People Office leaders and colleagues, and global executive leadership. We are looking for someone with a consulting mindset who can be a steward of our core values while applying knowledge, advice, and expertise across all domains of human resources as necessary.
The ideal candidate has a passion for solving complex challenges, being a true trusted advisor to the business, is willing to and enjoys "rolling up their sleeves," and has a hands-on approach to partnerships. You will work on key initiatives and projects, supporting current businesses and future growth markets, in areas such as organizational design, employee relations, culture, diversity, learning and total rewards, employee development, as well as facilitating the annual talent management processes. Requirements
- Successfully operated as a Senior HR professional in a complex, commercially driven matrixed organization; professional services industry experience is preferred
- Strategic mindset with the ability to partner with key decision-makers in the business while driving the business from an operational perspective
- Proven success in driving HR initiatives including employee engagement, employee relations, talent management, establishing foundational HR programs, compensation and benefits strategy, and change management
- Desire and ability to be an influential and credible Senior HR professional with all stakeholders, including setting the tone, agenda, and direction of the HR team and providing the necessary support, follow-up, and leadership to ensure the team achieves desired results
- Superior client relationship management and consulting skills with the ability to quickly foster strong, effective, and trusted relationships and networks
- Experience with appropriately navigating workplace investigations
- Ability to think critically, logically, and analytically
- Strong solutions focus; comfortable working in an environment which demands strong deliverables, along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions
- Capable of leveraging global People Office programs while tailoring solutions to unique in-market needs and demands
- Creates and inspires trust and openness amongst colleagues, together with a reputation for high personal integrity with the courage to challenge the status quo
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and articulate a variety of issues to different audiences across the business, tailoring messages accordingly
- Ability to collaborate with global centers of excellence to influence program design and execution tactics and effectively drive change at the local level in the regions and assigned businesses
- Demonstrated Program Management mindset and skills to deliver initiatives in an organized, efficient, and timely manner
- Experience managing and influencing the work of others
- Digital mindset and proficient technology skills, including MS-Office and related HR systems and databases (e.g., Workday)
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in HR; relevant advanced degree is highly desirable, such as MBA or M.A. in Human Resources
- Occasional travel (domestic and global)
