Role - Institutional Sales Trader
Job Description:
As an Institutional Sales Trader, your primary responsibility is to facilitate the buying and selling of financial securities and instruments on behalf of institutional clients, such as banks, financial institutions, asset management firms, and insurance companies. Your role will involve building and maintaining strong relationships with these Institutional clients to understand their investment objectives and execute trades that align with their strategies. You will work closely with the research and analysis teams to provide clients with market insights and investment recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with institutional clients to understand their investment needs, risk tolerance, and preferences. Act as their main point of contact for trading and investment-related inquiries.
- Market Analysis and Research: Stay up to date with the latest market trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes that could impact client portfolios. Collaborate with research analysts to provide clients with relevant market insights and investment opportunities.
- Trade Execution: Execute trades on various financial markets, including equities, fixed income securities, derivatives, commodities, and currencies, based on client instructions and market conditions. Ensure timely and accurate execution of orders.
- Risk Management: Assess and manage the risk associated with trading activities. Implement risk management strategies to safeguard client portfolios and minimize potential losses.
- Compliance and Regulations: Adhere to all relevant financial regulations, industry guidelines, and internal compliance policies to ensure the legality and ethicality of all trading activities.
- Sales and Business Development: Work collaboratively with the sales and business development team to identify new business opportunities and expand the client base.
- Performance Reporting: Generate regular reports on trade execution, performance, and portfolio updates for clients and internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications like CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are beneficial.
- Experience: Previous experience in Institutional Sales trading or a related financial role is highly preferred. Familiarity with various asset classes and financial instruments is essential.
- Market Knowledge: A strong understanding of financial markets, trading strategies, and market dynamics is crucial. Being well-informed about the BFSI sector's trends and developments is an advantage.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary for evaluating investment opportunities and understanding complex market data.
- Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are essential for building relationships with clients and presenting investment ideas effectively.
- Relationship Management: The ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with institutional clients is critical to success in this role.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with trading platforms, order management systems, and data analysis tools is beneficial.
- Adaptability: The financial markets are dynamic and ever-changing. The ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and client needs is crucial.
- Working in the BFSI sector as an Institutional Sales Trader, ability to build and maintain a strong client base, execute profitable trades, and deliver exceptional service to institutional clients.
