Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated IGCSE Social Studies Teacher to join our school. The candidate shall be committed to fostering a stimulating and supportive learning environment, encouraging critical thinking, research skills, and conceptual understanding among students. The role involves designing and delivering engaging lessons that align with the IGCSE curriculum while also nurturing students' curiosity and academic growth.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Develop and deliver creative and engaging IGCSE Social Studies lesson plans, encompassing subjects like History, Geography and Global Perspectives.
· Design engaging and interactive activities to facilitate conceptual understanding and critical thinking.
· Effectively assess student progress through tests, quizzes, presentations, and projects, providing constructive feedback to improve their understanding.
· Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, tolerance, and collaboration.
· Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior. Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, tolerance, and collaboration.
· Participate in the residential school community by contributing to dormitory life activities and after school prep classes (as assigned).
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Social Studies Education or a related field (History, Geography, Political Science, etc.)
· Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in classroom, preferably in a residential school setting.
· B. Ed. or equivalent teaching certification.
· Strong understanding of the IGCSE Social Studies or Global Perspective curriculum.
· A passion for Social Studies and the ability to make the subject engaging and relevant to students.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
· Stay up-to-date with current events and integrate them into the curriculum where appropriate.
