Position Overview : We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Compliance Specialist to join our Human Resources team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our organization complies with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and internal policies. The HR Compliance Specialist will work closely with HR leadership and cross-functional teams to establish, monitor, and enhance compliance processes and practices. About the team: We are a lean team of 40+ members. The founding team has a plethora of experience in data analytics, machine learning, and product development (& professional cricket!).
Key Responsibilities :
1. Legal Compliance :
- Stay abreast of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure company policies and procedures align with legal requirements.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to interpret and implement regulatory changes.
2. Policy Development and Implementation :
- Work with HR leadership to develop and update HR policies and procedures.
- Communicate policy changes to relevant stakeholders and ensure understanding and adherence.
3. Training and Education :
- Design and deliver training programs to educate employees and managers on compliance related topics.
- Provide guidance to HR and management on compliance issues and best practices.
4. Documentation and Recordkeeping :
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to HR compliance activities.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
5. Investigations and Resolutions :
- Conduct internal investigations into compliance concerns and employee relations matters.
- Collaborate with HR and management to address and resolve compliance issues.
6. Monitoring and Reporting :
- Establish metrics to monitor and report on HR compliance effectiveness.
- Produce regular reports for HR leadership and management on compliance-related activities.
7. Collaboration processes :
- Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance considerations into business
- Work closely with HR, legal, and other departments to address compliance-related issues.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in HR compliance roles.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong experience in Employees Grievance Handling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Professional certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP).
- Experience in developing and delivering compliance training programs.
- Previous experience working in a regulated industry.
