Role Overview:
As a Platform Engineer OR DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in refining, developing, and operating the build, development, and production environments of our scalable, distributed software systems in the railway domain. You will be responsible for planning, building, and implementing the infrastructure necessary for configuration, data recording, and monitoring of sensor systems, both in-cloud and on-premises. Additionally, you will contribute to defining our vision and roadmap for our scalable SaaS infrastructure and Enterprise software solution platform.
Key Responsibilities:

• Refine, develop, and operate the build, development, and production environments of our scalable, distributed software systems for the capture, ingestion, and storage of sensor data in the railway domain.
• Plan, build, and implement the infrastructure for configuration, data recording and monitoring of sensor systems for use both in-cloud and on-premises.
• Contribute to defining our Vision and Roadmap for our scalable SaaS infrastructure and our Enterprise software solution platform.
  

This Role Requires:
Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in a technical/engineering related program preferred.
• 4+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or Platform Engineer.
• At least 1 year experience and skill in troubleshooting in production environments

• Experience in operations, administration, maintenance and provisioning of Linux systems and Kubernetes clusters, both in the cloud but also on bare metal.
• At least one scripting language, Python preferred.
• Knowledge of Linux system internals
• Familiar with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation and system configuration tooling such as, Ansible, Puppet or Chef)
• Knowledge and practical experience in the areas of Gitlab, CI/CD and Docker
• Testing and release tooling to build/compile and test our Enterprise software builds
• Understand Linux package management including packaging and installation
• Work in a company with good documentation and make it even better
• Experienced in cloud resources such as AWS, Azure or GCP
• Understand the importance of monitoring, logging, observability, and security.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Hold (or are working towards) relevant certifications, such as: AWS Certifications or other Linux certifications (such as: CompTIA Linux+, RHCE/RHCA, Linux Foundation LFCS, Linux Professional Institute, etc)
  

Personal Experience and Character:

• Strong understanding of development involving machine learning or AI tools such as TensorFlow and OpenCV is a plus.
• General understanding of best practices pertaining to cybersecurity in relation with user management, active directory is a plus.
• Previous experience with big data, data science, and data analysis tools is a plus.
• Proven ability to work with global and multi-cultural teams.
• Ability to work independently while remaining aligned with overseas teams and overall delivery objectives.
• Strong commitment to project schedule and delivery timelines.
• Highly compassionate and ethically driven.

Job Location: Remote, India. Primarily remote with hybrid in-person work. Ability to travel domestically and internationally is required.
