Position Overview:
The Legal Head at Bewakoof plays a pivotal role in ensuring legal compliance and protecting the company's interests in the manufacturing and e-commerce sectors. With 12+ years of experience, this senior executive is responsible for legal strategy, contract management, compliance, and corporate governance. They also oversee risk management, intellectual property, litigation, and regulatory matters while leading and mentoring the legal team. The Legal Head's expertise contributes to the company's growth and success in a dynamic and competitive business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Strategy: Develop and implement the company's legal strategy to support and protect its interests in the manufacturing and e-commerce sectors.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, negotiate, and execute a wide range of contracts, including but not limited to vendor agreements, partnership agreements, employment contracts, and other business agreements.
- Compliance: Ensure the company's compliance with all relevant laws and regulations applicable to the manufacturing and e-commerce industries, including intellectual property, data protection, and consumer protection laws.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks, including potential litigation, intellectual property issues, and regulatory challenges.
- Intellectual Property: Oversee the protection and management of the company's intellectual property assets, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
- Corporate Governance: Provide legal advice and support on corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholder agreements, and corporate restructuring.
- Litigation Management: Manage and oversee any legal disputes or litigation that may arise, working with external counsel as necessary.
- Policy Development: Develop, implement, and enforce company policies to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
- Regulatory Liaison: Engage with regulatory authorities and agencies as necessary to represent the company's interests and stay informed about industry developments.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage the legal department, including mentoring and developing team members.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B) and registration with the Bar Council of India.
- 12+ years of relevant legal experience, including significant exposure to manufacturing and e-commerce setups.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, intellectual property, and other key company laws.
- Lawyer from reputed law schools and Company Secretary qualification preferred.
- Proven track record of successful negotiation and management of complex contracts.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with litigation and dispute resolution.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues in the manufacturing and e-commerce sectors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
