As an Analyst in the Competitive Intelligence Insights space, you will be responsible for creating actionable insights on pricing trends across our competitive set. Target’s competitive pricing program and pricing insights is dependent on timely, accurate, and efficient collection of the competitor data generated by this team. You’ll work to rapidly advance this capability and help build & grow this insight capability.
Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
Develop and deliver weekly insights on competitor pricing trends for assigned key
businesses
Keep key pricing partners current on competitor trends and pricing investments that could
inform strategy shifts in Target’s approach
Build category context to pair with rigorous data analysis on the drivers of competitive
intel metrics and performance versus enterprise objectives
Solve defined problems of high complexity and streamline/redefine processes using
structured techniques or automation
Drive stakeholder and organizational awareness to performance metrics by creating and
publishing dashboards, performing deep dive analyses to provide insight into effectiveness
of competitive intel strategies and operations
Use problem solving principles, strong critical thinking and partnership with product,
pricing operations and insights teams to increase ROI on competitive data acquisition
Culture, Communication & Training
Drive positive, inclusive, engaged culture and best practices for all of Pricing & Promotions
Center of Excellence.
Demonstrate sensitivity to cross-cultural nuances. Communicate effectively with team
members and partners in various forums.
Reporting/Working Relationship
Reports to Sr. Manager, Competitive Intelligence Insights
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements
MBA-Retail/Operations management with 1-3 years of experience
OR
Graduate – Business/Commerce/Economics/Science/BE/B Tech with 4-7 years of experience
Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel and SQL
Experience in data analysis and preparing dashboards for interpreting business insights
Analytical, self-starter, curious and thrives on learning new capabilities
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to effectively present in meetings of all sizes and formats
Strong project management skills
Desired Requirements
Prior retail/e-commerce experience
Basic knowledge in financial analytics methodologies and concepts
Six sigma expertise (knowledge of tool and lean principles application)
Project management expertise
Experience working on Python/R script
