Your Role and Responsibilities
The individual in this role is able to design and develop learning experiences, in particular experiential learning that builds awareness and learning outcomes around IBM technologies. The program manager is able to design compelling experiences to mobilize learners in the IBM eco-system and nurture them into highly engaged communities of skilled individuals. This is an opportunity for you to help IBM and university stakeholders (universities, faculty, students) succeed in Data, AI, and cloud technologies. As an Academic Technical Enablement Lead (Labs) on the Academic Initiatives and Workforce Social Impact team, you will:

Responsibilities include:


  • Designing , developing learning experiences to effectively drive adoption of IBM technologies at universities and broader learner eco-system.
  • Building experiences that meet individual geographic and global needs
  • Designing programs that have operational rigor and are designed for scale
  • Managing external stakeholders including non-profit partners, vendors, and influencers
  • Collaborating with internal executives and stakeholders in technology platform, content, and other cross-functional teams
  • Capture best practices for ML, Data/AI, and Kubernetes technologies, create documentation like articles, tutorials, and hands-on workshops & demos
  • Assist university stakeholders in designing exercises and capstone projects watsonx machine learning technologies
  • Effectively lead projects with multiple technical teams and external stakeholders across geographies
  • Demonstrate your passion to understand and learn new technologies, to innovate and improve quality of service.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Technical
Expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Technologies: The candidate must possess a deep understanding of AI and ML principles, algorithms, and their real-world applications. This includes familiarity with various AI domains such as natural language processing, computer vision, robotics, and machine learning techniques ranging from supervised and unsupervised learning to deep learning.
Experience with Educational Technology and Instructional Design: Given the focus on creating creative, impactful learning experiences, the candidate should have experience with educational technologies and instructional design methodologies.
Software Development and Integration Skills: The ability to develop and integrate various software tools into educational modules and ensuring that these integrations are seamless, user-friendly, and accessible to a broad audience.
Product and solution Stack landscape : Familiarity with IBM’s product and solutions AI/Cloud stack and how it compares with other technology stacks


Education:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Education, Educational Technology, Business Administration, or similar, with an emphasis on workforce development and external vendor management.


Experience:


Minimum of 8-10 years in academic content development, including significant experience
in managing external vendors and partnerships.

Vendor Management Skills:
Demonstrated ability in selecting, negotiating with, and managing external content providers to meet educational goals.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Capability to develop and execute global strategies that align educational content with both academic and workforce readiness goals.
Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent skills in working with faculty, industry partners, and external vendors to foster collaboration and achieve curriculum objectives.
Innovation and Adaptability:
A commitment to adopting innovative educational technologies and methodologies, adapting content to meet evolving labor market trends.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills for effectively managing relationships with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with educational and workforce development goals.



Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise


  • 3 Years of experience in AI engineering or related roles, with a strong focus on machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, along with experience with AI frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
  • Experience in or knowledge of generative AI using LLMs, proprietary or opensource.
  • Experience in using container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes to deploy and manage applications.
  • Experience building engaging demos and guided hands-on labs for different audience personas.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
